Employment Law and the latest Labour Reforms were the focus of a conference held at ISDE, where talks were given by some of the most prominent figures in the sector, including Madrid Supreme Court Judge, Ms  Concepción Morales Vállez, who closed a productive six hours of speeches.

At the morning session, participants had the opportunity to listen to speeches delivered by several Madrid Labour Court Judges, as well as that of Chief Justice Juan Miguel Torres Andrés, and Supreme Court Judge, Ms María Lourdes Arastey Sahún, all of whom provided a jurisprudential analysis of the various aspects of the reform.

The speeches were widely welcomed by the more than thirty attendees at the event, one of whom commented on leaving: “It is not enough to know the law; you have to know how judges are going to apply it”.

Attendees also had to opportunity to listen to other guest speakers, such as the counsel at trade union UGT’s legal department, Bernardo García Rodríguez, who focused on the working conditions provided for in the Collective Bargaining Agreement; and the employment law specialist of legal journal, SEPÍN, and practising lawyer, Alberto Sierra Villaécija, who concluded the conference with a talk on the order for payment procedure in the social order.

The conference, which was part of ISDE’s monthly conference schedule, evidences the Institute’s position at the forefront of current issues that are of concern to society and, therefore, the legal sector, as well as the professionals who have been receiving training at the institute for decades.
